He made many stylisih knives, mostly with wharnciffe blades, many autos. Some of his work was considered art, but for a while he was better known for his babes.

One night Tim got a little excited and started spamming the forums with flames, pasting them in about as fast as the moderators could zap them. After about an hour or so of that we decided he wasn't going to calm down anytime real soon and it was late at night and we all wanted to go to bed, so we banned him temporarily, intending to reinstate him as soon as he calmed down and promised to behave. Not the first time that's happened, but he's so lovable we've always reinstated him and welcomed him back as soon as he calmed down. This time, though, he hasn't gotten over it. We all hope he will come back. So what if he gets a little overexcited once in a while; we all love him anyway.

Cougar,

I did not know about Tim's fate, nor about that dust-up.

Has anyone made overatures to him and invited him back?

Take it from a hothead, sometimes you are flat out embarrassed by your behavior, and your non-appearance is not bile or anger, but guilt and shame.

I liked to read Tim's stuff, it was hard-edged most of the time, but I admit that I giggled most of time. We should send an olive branch over to him.

Tim has been invited back, but it seems loke he isn't interested. I miss him as well. We have had a couple of dustups over the years, but I don't hold that against him. They were kind of fun actually.

I think Tim knows he can come back anytime he wants. Spark has been on Chat while Tim was there and there was nothing but some goofing around.. I think the only place Tim posts now is CKD, and he's on his best behavior over there. You wouldn't recognize him, like two different guys, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. I think after he gets bored with that, he'll be back here. ;)

Hey James, that's the one. I thought you might be posting it. I don't know about the rest of the folks here, but I can't wait to hear a review from the first person ever to use a Tim Herman knife. :D

Phil, I now you're just joking, but for those that don't, Tim has made lots of user knives and I have liked every one of these designs.

I just received an email from Tim and I must apologise to Phil. It seems that even though Tim is making some great users in the 2 to 3 hundred dollar range, no one has contacted him to tell him that they have ever used one of his knives. I know they are fine looking knives, but geez guys, they are meant to be used. I can see not using one of his art knives, but I'd bet his users are great knives.

Here is a picture of a new design that Tim is planning on making. It will be inexpensive and have a 3" blade. Looks like a winner to me.

Sorry, didn't post the picture properly. Lets try that again.
