Folks, where would I find a tree section to make a hawk throwing target? There is no Yellow Pages entry "Tree Sections, Dealers and Distributors". Where do you get yours? I'm an urban dweller (not by choice) so I can't just "saw my own". Thank you for your kind assistance.

P.S. If you know of a place in the southern Virginia area were I could practice hawk throwing please let me know. I'll supply the targets if someone can answer my question :D.

any lumber mills near by, might want to check, maybe someone there would slice the unused end off a log or two for you.

Or maybe a city worker or tree trimmer would cut a slice off a stump when they take trees down around your city.

After a big storm that nocks down some trees just drive around until you find one and ask if you can have a pice when they cut it up to get rid of it.

Call any firewood supplier, tell them you're looking for whole treetrunk 'rounds' in the 16" and up size range, and ask for them to be 8-10" thick. They'll be happy not to have to split firewood out of a treetrunk round that size. If Virgina has plenty of elm trees, large elm rounds make excellent targets, soft enough for the ax to stick but they won't rot out in the open for many years, and won't fall apart after several direct hits.
