John posted a Knatchet a while back that a fellow forum member had ordered, I have been looking forward to some pics and his opinion of the blade but have seen nothing ????:(

I've got it! I picked it up in trade about a month ago. Actually, I am getting ready to put it up on the exchange, need funds for other things right now. It's one hell of a tool and I wish it didn't have to go but, you know. :o

You picked it up on the exchange and now you are also letting it go....this isn't sounding good for the poor tool !:(

Sorry guys:( I thought I'd have a chance to use it this year. But work has gone fron bad to worse....Mike

Pitdog...and other knatchet owners. I am considering ordering a knatchet for Dec. timeframe. Give me your feedback. Chopping ability compared to hatchet? Strengths? Carry often? What tasks do you use it for most?
Thanks

Hey buddy what can I tell ya.
IMO the Knatchet chops better than a small hatchet although is obviously no match for an axe.It will chop as good as my SWKW Chopweiler which is thicker stock and has a 7"+ blade as opposed to the Knatchets 4" ish blade.
The main advantage of the Knatchet is it's versatility, this thing will slice food like ya sharpest kitchen knife.
You can choke up on it so in effect it becomes a razor sharp 4" blade that you can skin critters or carve wooden camp tools or trap parts with.
The Knatchet can truly be described as a " Survival Tool ", you could quite easily get by in a survival situation with this as your only edged tool.
You may find it is slightly smaller than it appears in pics which to me just adds to it's usefullness as it carries on your belt without pulling ya pants round your ankles ( I'd estimate it weighs as much as your average 6" heavy duty knife).

Get one ordered !!!;)

Thanks for the reply and I enjoy your posts pitdog. Chops better than the SRKW chopweiler...that is impressive! I had one and it was a nice heavy duty blade-sold it to fund another purchase. I will likely put in an order for a knatchet in the next several mos. Am awaiting my first JK knife-Lobo. It will actually be filling the 6-7" blade vacancy my chopweiler left.
Thanks

I have one on order. Pit, what are your carry options? I'm going to ask Noah to do the sheath, possibly with some grommets for tie-down points, but I'd like to see yours too, please.

My comps currently being fixed so I'm using my sons, when I get mine back I'll upload some sheath pics.
