Which big or full size Esee knife are you most impressed with and which would you recommend?

I'm intrigued but the Junglas and the Esee 5. I think I might like the blade length of the 6 but I don't like the larg choil and never choke up on a knife. I think if the 6 didn't have that I'd probably like it.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Do you plan to use the knife?
What are your intended uses?

All three:D The six is the most useful imo, the 5 is a beast and the Junglas....well it's ridiculous and the least useful of the three but... a must have because it's just badass:thumbup: So in summary, if you want a good user then a 6. If you want a unbreakable beater that will survive an atomic blast then a 5. If you just want to look cool then a Junglas...:D

Absolutely the 6. Can't wait until I heal up so I can go out and cut something.

I'm looking forward to my soon to come 5 & 6, not worrying about getting a junglas tho' I prefer my nepalese Khukuri

Depends on your use. For woodsy type stuff I really like the 6 even though I'm not big on choils, it doesn't seem to get in my way. The Junglas is a pig murderer and should be avoided at all costs. For getting drunk and busting out car windows at Wally World, well that's where the 5 with it's sharpened pommel really shines over the 6 (and the BK2). :p

Seriously, I'd vote 6. It's the one I tend to use the most.

I'm going to recommend something a little different. I mean no disrespect to the Esee Knives forum as i'm a pretty new addict myself.

I originally started up this bladeforums.com account because of himalayan-imports.com.
That being said, you will know I love a hand made khukuri.

So I will say here: Instead of asking the community what blade you should purchase next. Go with your heart. Get the blade that you feel calls to you.

I'm a weirdo in more ways than 1, but ehh so what I speak weird truth

The six will do it all...or maybe it just does everything mediocrely, but it does everything. It is an excellent blade. The chopping is decent, the splitting /batoning is pretty good, and the slicing/small stuff is gee-rate.

Are you guys saying the 6 is a good wood cutter and fuzz stick carver? If it cuts wood well I would like that.

Thanks

I too can't wait for the Laser Strike, as it seems like exactly what i've been waiting for. I love the size of the grip on the 6 for comfort but I prefer the blade size of the 4. In addition to that, the blade geometry of the Laser Strike is my preferred blade shape for all things outdoors. Once they are available and I get mine I also plan on convexing the edge, and then I'll never have to buy another blade again as I will have reached the equivalent of ESEE blade Utopia!

Yeah right....me never buy another blade....like that will ever happen:D

I think there is some sort of survival gene that they have yet to discover that makes my buy too many blades, water bottles, packs, and fire starters. I have only minimal other gear but these things seem to have such a primal draw for me. Do I need any more than one of any of these things...probably not, but heck they are fun to play with.

There are only two BIG ESSEs, the Junglas and the Lite Machete. If you don't already have a machete, get the Lite. If you do, get the Junglas.
