Which loctite?

I have found the sweet spot for the pivot tension on my new Para, but it tends to loosen slightly from the position that I like. Which loctite would be best to use to keep it just where I want it, but still be easy to change if I want to?

Also - the non-clip side pivot is torx, the clip side is hex. Are they all this way?

The blue loctite is much easier to work with if you need to remove it.

purple.

Purple loctite is pretty much specifically for that. lets you still turn the screw, but it's a good deal more difficult so it won't loosten on it's own.

From the Q&A at http://www.loctiteproducts.com/questions.asp
How can I remove Loctite Threadlockers?

Blue: Can be removed with hand tools
Red: Apply heat to remove
Green: Apply heat to remove

I'd be wary of red. Personally, I like the purple.

My guess is that purple's either the same as blue or a little weaker.

It's sold often times in gun/sporting good stores for use with scope mounts.

Go with purple if you can find it, blue if you can't. Stay away from red, way too small a fastener for red.

Start with the weakest, if that does the job, you need not go further, if not, step up to the next.

I use blue and it works fine for me. Does not take to much force to break the loctite and keeps them from moving.

I read over and over to stay away from red, but I found it the only one to securely hold me pivots, and if you use a high quality torx driver that properly fits the screw you can remove it without damage. I have never had trouble with red:thumbup:

I haven't tried any on a blade pivot, but I have a couple of Torx screws in my refrigerator handle that refused to stay tight until I used some blue Loctite. They haven't budged since then. With all the kids in the house yanking on that door, that's saying something. I have not tried to remove the screws.
