Ok, here's a good one for you guys.

looking for one with:
*scissors
*2.5"ish blade
*screwdriver/can opener
*nailfile
*tweezers/toothpick(pretty much standard on any SAK)

but I want one thats thin(ie NOT 25+ tools) and around the $30US mark.

I'm up here in the 51st state, and I carry Spyderco. I'm never without a larger blade(or 3), and the SAK will be for pretty much sheeple use. Replacing the Utilikey, and possibly the Buck Minitool on my keys.

I have access to pretty much every SAK model.

Your search is over....get a Victorinox Compact knife. I got one about six months ago and I've carried it everyday since. Easy on the pocket and very useful in a non-wilderness setting. Mine was about $24 (maybe less) if I remember correctly.

It comes with: Large blade, combo screwdriver-can opener-wire stripper-bottle opener, scissors, package hook, nail file, tweezers, straight pin, corkscrew which holds a eyeglass screwdriver, toothpick, ball point pen and finally a keyring/lanyard loop. Whew!

I use the thing everyday.

Dave

EDIT: I just remembered the price was $24 at a gunshow and I got it for $20 out the door at the end of the show. I'd pay $30 or more...that's how much I like this knife.

can't find the Compact on the home site... have to check it out when I go in next...

The Voyager is looking good though.

I have to add my vote for the Compact as well. Also you might consider the Cadet. The Cadet doesn't have scissors/toothpick/tweezers but is very thin. Another one to consider is the Executive, it's a bit smaller but has a better fingernail file and a neat orange peeler/screwdriver/box opener blade.

Take Care!
Scott

I've seen the Compact in ordinary outdoor shops around here. You can find it for sure.
If it takes too long, the Executive might fit the bill too, but it's a little bit smaller (between regular size and the keychain guys).

I asked here on BF in:

KF in the slipjoint

and last, Spyderco general(home forum)

So far have suggestions towards:
Huntsman, Mountaineer, Compact, Voyager, Outrider, and Ranger...

I'm waiting on a reply from my dealer here as to his prices on these models. Sticking with Victorinox after a rather interesting post over on KF regarding Wegner vs Vic...

If it's not too late, take a look at the SuperTinker. Like the Voyager but no clock - the clock's not waterproof - and a phillips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew. I like the Compact as well but I actually use the small blade more than the large one and the Comapct doesn;t have it.
