I also have a BM model 404, but that's not fully paid for yet.
 
Tony, are you still collecting for good flippers, or have you decided that it's almost noble when collecting for the love of collecting?:p

(didn't you post that you mainly collect to use???)
 
I haven't picked up my new balisongs yet. I just got back.

But, I did get a 5MPixel digital camera with 10x optical zoom and macro focusing down to 2cm. Very nice.

Actually, I posted that I wind up with a collection because I keep buying new ones to use and never getting rid of the old ones. And now with the amount of users I currently have, I see the value and nobility of having a few braggers in my collection.

Don't underestimate me, I'm still crazy enough to carry and flip the 49-01's should the temptation come up (except #009 now that it has a twin). And my old BM customs still sees carrying and usage duty in line with the new recent acquistions.

But the decision to go on the recent hoarding binge is to be able to have a specific example on hand so that I can complete my analysis of the new crop of Balisongs on the market. This way I can continue to speak from experience, instead of relying on the words of others (not that the words of those others in this forum would carry any less weight). Consider it necessary studying material for my thesis for that elusive Ph.D is balisongology I'm trying to complete for the past 20 years.

I've got the tang ping nailed down; almost have the latchgate issue done; and am almost convinced that the sandwich construction bali is the way of the future (no handle alignment issues ever, now that's something to cheer about). When I finally get down to doing one, we'll see just how much I really learned. But in the end I still end up with a heck of a toy chest.
 
These technically aren't Christmas presents since I got 'em just days before Christmas, but I thought I'd try my new digital camera and see how it does under studio lights. Not bad.

I got a Black Tachyon #358. I'm in the process of trying to remove the latch screw, so I can put the latch on the other handle.

I got a BM43a (my first Balisong). I LOST the tip of my pinky. Oh well, practice makes perfect.
 
Damn it!!!! I wish I had a Tachyon, and now that tony has #311 I'm realllllly mad!!!

This poor college kid thing has got to stop.

Maybe after working full time during break I will manage to pay off some bills and have some left for a tachyon.

And when I get back to school I get to drive the ZAMBONI!!!! at my other job

I know you are all excited for me, but please, try to hold it back.
 
Mr. Yoda gets to drive a Zamboni! WOW, that is my dream job! I would drive it for every Chicago Blackhawks hockey game. I'll take season tickets as payment in full.;) :D :D :D

Hey calm down. If you want #311 that bad, I'll trade you for another black blade one anytime. Once you have a prototype, those numbered ones lose their appeal.... ;)

I'd love to be able to drive a Zamboni. :D
 
Tachyon #0344, black blade. I love the thing. I had the same trouble as MikeM, I sheared two torques heads trying to remove the latch screw. Finally I just switched the handles around, works fine. There didnt seem to be any loche tight on the two blade screws, strange.

Yep I got myself a BM 259 that i intend to get rehandled eventually. I also got a new sharpening set up.

I'm not mad at you, I would just love to have a black Tachyon and can't afford it right now. Also, 311 is one of my favorite bands, thats why I was hoping to get one around that number when I finally do buy one. But at least now I know who has it...muahahah my plans are nearly complete.
 
I got a Jag! Woohoo! :) Actually, my mom couldn't find one (or didn't look terribly hard) so she wrapped one of our kitchen knives in lieu of the bali, and said I should just get it and she'd pay for it. I'm hopefully ordering it tonight.

Speaking of which, I have a question about 1sks. com. Maybe one of you can answer it, or Kevin can if he sees this thread. The pics of the silver skeleton handled Jag balis are down, and have been for quite some time. This doesn't mean they're out of stock or anything, does it? Anyway, thanks much, whoever can answer this question.
