Has anyone ever dropped their 42 by accident while munipulating it? Did anything happen to the balisong, like chip, bend, or maybe even break a part? I'm just curious because I'm looking to buy one pretty soon, and dont want to buy another bali after I buy a 42.Or at least for a while.

I have dropped mine many times since I started practicing aerials. No bending, breaking, chipping or cracking. I practice on carpet, so I haven't dropped it on a hard surface yet.

Hi!

Dropped mine A LOT, no problems with chipping or any other breaking.
More then a few scratches though

i think it's very hard to break a BM balisong by dropping it, unless you drop it from really high up. (or drop it on electric wiring...that'll break/chip any knife!)

Although i always try to manipulate over carpet or something else soft, i'v dropped it countless times and never broken bent or chipped anything.

Yessirree. I dropped my #'d pre-prod while on a trip. I was sittin' and flippin' when I "oops" slipped.

It went tip first on the flagstone kitchen floor of the cabin. The very end of the tip hooked very slightly. The result looked similar to a heavy burr on the end. However, improvising by using a brick from the fireplace,(it looked to be the right grit) I was able to restore the blade end. Later touch ups will bring it to shaving, but I'm not going to be using it for that, so no rush.

For $115 it better not break on you for that much. If it does, BM should replace it I would imagine. Mine hasn't been hurt at all by dropping it.

I think i've dropped mine maybe three times on a wood floor and I cant find any scratches or nicks.

Yes... I have it since few days and I've already dropped it (trying some throws).
First time, my heart started beating very fast... but the knife was ok... nothing.
Usually I try to train in front of my bed, mostly for throws with expensive knives :-)
If it falls down, it falls on the sheets, no risk (except for the sheets :-))
