I am the opposite, I have always had an interest, and thus have always wanted a balisong. However, I have to admit that I previously did not want a Spyderfly, nor any Spyderco for that matter.
Although now, after having been bitten by the "Spyder-Bug", I want every Spydie out there, and the Spyderfly is one particular item which I definately wish to acquire, with the Szabofly, and Mini-Fly turning the "definately wish to acquire", into "desperately wish to acquire".
The Szabo' is one of the most highly anticipated bali's in my opinion, and I personally have an admiration for small knives, and so the Mini-fly would be my ultimate EDC, and the Spyderfly is simply a "must have" item to complete any Spyderco collection.
I have to say, that I truely think that the balisong market needs more innovative brands, and knives, and nothing makes me happier then to know that my favourite folding knife brand, Spyderco, is continuing to become more affiliated with the bali scene, and designing original bali's for both balisong enthusiasts like myself, and general Spyderco fans.
I honestly think, that if Sal Glesser, and Spyderco continue to expand their product lines to include balisong's, that Spyderco will become a successful name within the balisong market, with it's bali's being up there with the best of them.
The Spyderfly is already considered to be one of the best quality balisong's, for it's price range. The thought within the bali forum, is that there is no other bali worth purchasing, that is cheaper than the Spyderfly,..... and realistically speaking, the future realease of the Szabofly and the Minifly, will cement Spyderco within the scene, and will definatley be a force to rekon with.... in my opinion anyway.
Sal, and Spyderco,..... Please stick with bali's, and I hope that it will become a standard product within the Spyderco product line.
