Does anybody know the history behind the 'Lanny's clip'?

I know it's a Tony Bose design, but that's about all I've been able to find.
Was Lanny the designer? The guy Tony made the first one for? A historical maker?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Bill,Lanny is a friend of Tony's. Yeah,I think Tony made (& darn good, too) what Lanny asked for .

Thanks Vince!

I'd agree - Lanny made a great choice and Tony made a great knife:

How does a Lanny's clip vary from a conventional clip design?

Lanny told me he wanted a knife 3 3/4" closed with a sturdy clip in it and this is what I came up with. Not knowing what to call it I started calling it Lannys clip. It's a work horse of a knife. The blade grind is kinda tuff but pretty when you pull it off.

I do believe,it's a sabre grind clip ??

You got yourself a nice one there Bill. Lanny would be proud of that one for sure.

That is one beautiful knife. I am glad that raydbonz asked this question. I have wondered for a while who Lanny was.:D

Thanks for the explanation Tony. A great idea, since some clips can be a bit thin out at the point.
