Who uses Comp Tac holsters?

Hi guys-

My carry rig has been a CompTac CTAC for my 1911 for quite a while. But I seem to be carrying my XD9 a bit more often these days. I've been happy with the quality and 'carryability' of the CTAC, and want to get a similar model for the XD.

The one I'm looking at is the Infidel model, with the belt clip and strut. This setup:

Anyone use that one? Especially if you've used both it and the CTAC. Wondering about any differences in stability or comfort.

Thanks guys-

Bump for Comp-Tac reviews. I recently bought an Uncle Mike's kydex paddle holster, and I'm not too impressed.

This looks like a better holster, so I'd like to hear others take on Comp-Tac.

Spooky, how do you like the Comp-Tac for your 1911? The main complaint I have with the Uncle Mike's model for my full-sized Glock is that it's wobbly and sits too far out, so it feels like it's pulling my belt down all the time. It doesn't feel solid and secure, like my Uncle Mike's nylon pancake.

What I DO like about the kydex paddle is that it's easy to put on, and fairly easy to get off, so I don't have to undo my belt to take the holster off. It's also wicked fast to draw, since it's held in by friction. This is my main reason for wanting a kydex with friction hold -- if I get attacked by a lion on the trail, my adrenaline is going to be screaming and my fine motor skills out the door, and all I want to do is snatch that gun and start shooting.

Spooky, hope I didn't derail your question -- if so, I'll edit as needed.

CompTac will build anything for anything. Very cool.

I have a number of them, but I like the C-Tac for concealed carry. http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=61

Any competition shooters out there? Ask them if they'll still make you a "belt fed" mag holder, for 4 mags at about $160.

here's two now.... A neck holster and a Tek Lok belt holster. If you want it- they'll make it.

If you can handle the thickness of a Glock IWB, then the CTAC is the best IWB holster you'll ever use. I've been through several and nothing has ever been as comfortable. Holds it tight and secure, and is adjustable all around. I wear my fullsize 1911 around in a gunshop in t-shirt and jeans, with retired cops working the counter, and they still comment that they'd never have believed I was concealing a gov't model unless I'd shown them myself.

I'm about 6'4", 200lbs if that's helpful.

I haven't found anyone so far who has used the CompTAC configuration in the original post, so I may just go ahead and give it a try.

i went through 20 holsters looking for something that would work for my glock 30.... i bought a comp tact back when they had a crappy web sight and their gear was not to expensive.... and i have never looked back... the only thing i have done is upgraded the clips... and when i did manage to break one the was a new one in the mail 2 days later.... i have since opened up the bottom of the c-tac so my g21 rides in to as well as my g30.... never had a better holster...
