I have been using my wilton square wheel, and the belts keep breaking. I am not putting too much pressure on them but they break at the seam. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Chuck

I get mine really tight and never worry about it (wilton)...i suspect your belts are old....the splices on 2x72" belts generally fail after about 1.5 to 2 years....check your supplier and ask him about this... if that isnt the problem dont pull the tension wheel up so hard.....try putting a bunch of electricians tape right in the center of your idler wheel (about 1.4" high at most) and that will make your belt center better without so much tension.

Don't know what brand belts you are using, but most are marked for direction of travel on the inside. If you mount them the other way they break pretty regular. One more ide is moisture- If the belts get damp at all the jonts let go and the abrasive wears much faster.
Please let us know what finally fixes your problem
