There is a lot of discussion on this forum about adding a glass or hardened steel platen to a grinder. This begs the question... Why don't they sell a grinder with a good platen in the first place??
My expensive Bader III came with a simple piece of angle iron for a platen. I'd much prefer having the option of upgrading to a good, machined and hardened platen when I bought the grinder. I'm sure other people feel the same way.
