Theres One thing I always do befor bidding or buying a knife from a dealer,I check there history.Im sure you all do the same. Why is it everyone has all postive comments and never any negatives.Im not gona mention any auctions, but one of the biggest genearal auction sites has both negative and postives comments for the sellers. Now I look at the knife auctions and all I see is positives.Whats going on here?I know not all of these people are perfect dealers,or are they?

If a guy is in a competative business,it is to easy to sabatoge his reputation and gain advantage over him with baseless complaints. If a dealer has 150 positive comments,he is not someone that is going to get your money and send you nothing.
This is what I look for ,a person that has a business that he will not jepordize for my $ 200.00

I agree with you 100%,but what happened to his 1 or even 2 negative comments.Does he have a little pull on the inside or what?
If I have a bad deal with someone I want all to know about it, thats all there is to it.
I can understand the seller getting pissed and not thinking its his fault......but what about the buyer? What protects the buyer in these situations?I need to see a little of both......all I see is good and that leaves me to beleive its not good.Even if it was a little late in the mail ....say 2 weeks,I want to know about it.

STIHL,
There no negative comments because you can have them removed.

crp4,

Come on someone with that many comments and not even 1 negative. Not possible.

Just who would remove the negative comments? If that were even possible, why no fuss from the posterthat the negative comments that his/her posts were removed?

STIHL,

No problem. My loyalties are with other knife nuts not the people in this for money only. Knives are more to me than just $.

No doubt there are negative posts removed.
There are alot of jealous people that resent that someone may be enterprising enough to make a few bucks on somrthing that they do for a hobby.
I have not been totally with every transaction I have made over the internet, but I would only make a complaint if I sent a noney order and got nothing back or ammends not made in a fair ammount of time. I will say it again,"Knives sold on the internet are the most consumer regulated item I am familar with.
You do not have to look far to find people who are Never happy and are only satisfied when they have damaged a mans
business. This is something I have never witnessed before with the exception of a drunk in a restaurant not wanting to pay is check because he has managed to find SOMETHING he didn`t like.
I am sure an dealer will tell you two things:
1.He ain`t getting rich selling knives
2.No matter how reasonable he is some folks just like to complain.
I defy anyone to point to a case where a dealer has his money and the knife he ordered.
I hear one or two malcontents say the dealer gave my money back because he got sick of my big fat mouth.
I beleive that if a reasonable person made a reasonable complaint that it would stay posted, but with all the venum some buyers spew they just take tem ALL off
to keep from losing business for an unfair reason

There are beaucoup neg. comments.I have made a few of my own.None have been deleted.I would raise hell,if they were.If they were deleted, they would only pop up somewhere else.
I do not believe that Mike or Spark would delete a post to please an advertiser. They have more honor than that. That is why I say that this is a joke.

crp4,

Enough of the name-calling and put-downs. This not a personal battle. If you want continue this nonsense lets take it to e-mail. I think that if you had my experience with OPM you would feel differently. OTHER PEOPLES MONEY! If you are buying off his auctions I can name several dealers that will beat his silly prices.

I wasn`t talking about OPM or any single dealer.
I am having trouble keeping up with who said what.I have gotten the message though I will be more respectful to everyone.
I have always been treated well by the dealers I have boughtfrom.I was only trying to repay their kindness to me by
teling of my experiences.

crp4,

Run a search on this forum using drac noroc as search. See my posts about other dealers.

Hi,
I do not buy knives from Dealers, so I'm not sure how you guys are checking up on thier business reputations. However, I'm a strong beliver in Consumer Confidence, and that it is up to the company you intend to to business with, to provide you with that since of confidence, in their Business Ethics.
There are three excellent Consumer Protection Databases, that they can register with. You as a consumer, have the right to strongly recomend, to your Dealers that they register with at least one of them listed below.

1. BBBonLine, (Better Business Bureau) everyone knows them and thier reputation. Unfortunately, for a small one man, custom knifemaker like me, they want over $600 a year to join. That is way over my AD Budget, but shouldn't be for these big Dealers.

2. BizRate, a very good database, but they only deal with the "Big Boys" that offer, secure-sites, for credit cards. That leaves alot of small knifemakers like me, off their availability list.

3.The Public Eye, a free service, and just the ticket to help put buyers at ease. If you would like to see the type of info you can look-up throught them, then visit my web-site. I just signed up with them. I'm hopping that any new customers of mine, will take the time to fill out the Form, that goes on file with "The Public Eye" You can click on thier "Logo" posted at the bottom of my Home Page, for Sunrise River Custom Knives, at www.sunrisecustomknives.com.
Best Reguards,
