Why the raised screw head on the 80MM ?

Why are the screw heads on the 80MM not countersunk? Not only does the countersink help protect the screwheads, it feels a bit better as well.

Any particular reason they are not?

Don't know the "why" but would suggest that if you find it to be a feature you don't like, you might wish to avoid the R2, Adventura, Poliwog, Ocelot, CF Harpy, and Centofante IV as well, since they all have screws (and in some cases pins) that project above the surface. Even the Drop Point D'Allara is a mixed bag, a couple fully below the surface, a couple not.
 
Yes, noticed that too, on my 80MM. Easy fix though, I did what the factory should have done, drill a little deeper. Still a great knife!
I think I have done mod's on every knife i have.
