Wife did it to me ... NO FORUMS TILL MAY 3

Rats, my wife TOLD me last night that I have to take one of my vacation weeks next week. She wants me to get some things done around the house.

Bumber! I don't have access to the internet away from work, so I won't be able to see what is going on here from this Friday until May 3.

What to do?

She said it will be good for me to be away for a week or so from knife talk as well as work. Work, what does she think I will be doing at home, then. WORK! Tell you what though, she can take away the forums for a week from me, but one thing she can't take away from me (or should I say hundreds of things), 'my knives!'

Bummer. Does your local library have computers?? Maybe you could check the forums there. No telling. See ya in May. Have a "fun" vacation.

I thought about the Library ... but ... knowing my wife she will be attached to me like a BALL & CHAIN! Even so, if I did get to check this out at the Library, I wouldn't be allowed to post, it's against my Library's rules to post when using their PC. I may run accross a thread I want to post on, and seeing it and knowing I can't post, well, that would even make it worse for me

Well so much for the library. Hmm...do you have any internet cafe's where you live?? Maybe you could go get some "supplies" from Home Depot and stop in the cafe on the way home.
Or what if there was something they needed you for at work. Anyone at work that would call you "looking" for something, and need you to come find it.

I'm sure you can make it a week without the forums. How about if everyone promises not to post untill May 3?? That might work.

How will I hear about the knives you have on order whether or not they arrive and your impressions? You must have a buddy with a PC.If not have fun working around the house.

I know how you feel, I'm takin' vacation Thursday Friday and Monday and I only have access at work, sometimes I can sneek into town and check the forum, but since being on for less than a month my wife says I'm addicted, that can't happen, can it?

That's one of the reasons my wife says no way to the internet at home. She says I am hooked too much already. Well, maybe she is right. If she wants to be like a ball & chain when I am home, I guess I should count my blessings then! I need her as well as she needs me!!! (I know she isn't looking here, but you can never be to careful!)

There is always play time at work she tells me ...

I know how it feels to go so long without cruising the forums.
I recently underwent back surgery and spent an entire month away from my only access(at work). Talk about a long month.
The fun thing was going back and reading some of the threads. I would just print up the good ones, read them and dog ear the ones I wanted to post to.
To keep myself amused, I went through and read all my back issues of Blade, KI and Tactical Knives. Learned quite a bit as I am still relatively new in my "affair with steel".

Good point! Thanks, I will do that ... out will come all my back issues.

At least when you are actually on a vacation and going somewhere with the family as I will be doing again in June and October, the mind is occupied elsewhere! These kind of vacations I don't mind missing the forums for a week or two, so much fun with the family you don't have time to think about work or other PLAY activities during work!

I'll just keep myself REAL BUSY at home next week, I am sure my wife already has my work planned for me!

If you get really desperate for a fix you could always run to your local mall...around here the ISP's have carts set up in the malls to try and woo customers...each cart usually has 4 or more machines hooked up to the Internet which the public can use to see "what this here internet thing is all about".

My family wanted to go to the Mall last night, so off we went. I couldn't find any of those machines set up for the Internet. I asked the info counter at the mall and they didn't know what I was talking about.

Maybe the Malls near me in Northern Ohio haven't made it to this point yet! Don't know ...

P.S. I seriously doubt I am going to even have time next week anyways, wife laid out my work for me next week. BUSY< BUSY< BUSY!
But, I will have the chance to use a knife alot next week outside. YES !!!!
