Will the Aviator knife fit the Mountaineer I sheath since both have 4" blades or does the double hilt preclude that? I don't like the Aviator sheath and prefer the more conventional looking Mountaineer sheath.

I'm not sure about the factory leather sheaths, but I do own one of the kydex sheaths for the Aviator, and my Mountaineer I fits very nicely. Don't know if that helps or not, but I just wanted to add that.

The word from Bridget is that yes, the Aviator will fit the Mountaineer I sheath. It might be a little tight but it will fit.
