will silver solder tool black?

I haven't tried this one yet. I'm working on a Bowie that's become a real bas****! I don't normally do very many full tangs, let alone with double guards. I'm fitting the guard but, with this one it's hard to have no gaping at all. It's a bit of an odd one. Plus, it has to be Tool Blacked. I was going to just JB Weld the guard but, the silver solder would blend the blade and guard better. I just don't know if the Tool Black would take to the solder. Help!

J, I don't know if it will or not. But if not, just run a black sharpie around the "thin" solder line.

There are a number of patinas that you can get to turn different solders black. Rio Grand should have them, or a local jewery supply if there is one near you.
