Just downloaded it from Microsoft Updates about an hour ago. Anyone else download it? Notice a performance increase/decrease?

I downloaded/installed it yesterday on my home PC. I've always noticed slow openings of applications like Mozilla and Steam and my computer is no slouch (Q6600 quad core @ 3.4ghz 4GB RAM @ 1200Mhz), but SP2 seemed to speed up application opening somewhat from what little I used it after the install. May just be my imagination though. I haven't re-run any of my benchmarks to check stability and speed vs. SP1 yet.

On another note, nothing exploded after the install and Windows is releasing updates ahead of schedule with little or no bugs! WTF is going on here. I'm starting to really like Microsoft lately and I mean that with no sarcasm. My Dad is a Linux programmer, and he has been surprisingly silent on the Windows bashing lately...

I haven't downloaded SP2 yet, but I did nab SP1 while it was still in beta and had 0 problems. Surprisingly enough it actually resolved a problem I was having with the my graphics card driver crashing under heavy use. Whoda thunkit?

Microsoft apparently has Vista running well, at least the 64 bit version. I haven't had the slightest bit of trouble with it.
On the other side of the coin, Linux Ubuntu 9.04 seems to be greatly improved as well. Version 8.04 wouldn't recognize my wireless Linksys WUSB600N as anything being plugged into the USB port at all, whereas version 9.04 not only recognizes the device but has a native driver included and connects to my router at full N speed. No ndiswrapper needed, no windows driver - it just works. Now if only they'd get their ATI drivers working better .......

Okay, that explains why the machine was slow like mollasses the other day, now it seems to be back up to speed.
