Same story as Stump too

The handle on the Pikuni provides a poor grip, and the fit and finish is not very good. The edge was very obtuse and the steel too thick (like 5/32" when 1/8" would have been fine).
The Talon is much better in design and execution. It offers a higher level of cutting performance due to its thinner stock and full flat grind, offers better grip security due to the design and use of grooves in the G10.
The blade shape, drop point w/o a swedge (like the Pikuni) provides excellent utility.
The Pikuni sheath was superior however. Made by Mike Sastre of River City Sheaths it is truly a first rate concealex sheath whcih ofers a minimal print outline, perfect levels of security and draw resistance, excellent fit and finish, Simply top notch.
The Talon sheath is quite good, maybe done inhouse or perhaps outsourced to Bladetech (it looks like there work), the level of finish is very good, and it is over all a very good sheath, but lacked the perfect level of retention that the River City sheath provides..... It is equipped with a teklok if that is a feature you like....
Overall the Talon is a much better package, it is nearly the ideal small hunting fixed blade, combining an ideal blade shape, nice size, good geometery (for my personal taste I would like a little wider blade which would result in the metal behind the edge being thinner, so that I could run the same edge angle, 30 degrees included at a finer ceramic finish, and get a higher level of performance), very good sheath, very good fit and finish, a nice steel or cobalt product, depending on your use and budget......
If you were willing to spend the extra money, Trace Rinaldi makes a very nice knife in this size frame called the "Gambit" there is information on his line of knives, and contact information, in a thread in the review section that you may find helpful.
Stay sharp,
