Just got a new chopping block in. I’m still in the process of oiling it before I put it to use. Once it starts earning its keep, I read that it’s a good idea to condition the wood from time to time. The stuff is concoction of mineral oil and beeswax. Being a cheap cuss, I figured why spend $20 on a small container when I could make my own? Everything turned out well, I now have a little over a pint of the stuff.

How do you store this stuff though? Should I put it in the fridge? Keep in a dark, cool place? Leave it on the counter next to the chopping board and wooden utensils?

I'd keep it in a cool, dark place.
Generally, the three things that break everything down are UV, heat, and oxygen.

That homemade wood conditioner did wonders for my new Chinese chopping block. It was dry and thirsty before, now she looks about ready to use.
