Woodsman versus Xmas tri-tip steak. Apples might do well for a patina but I have discovered that BLOOD works far better!:D

Mmmm! meat with salt!

For the BEST patina use blood, not apples!
 
Nice pics. Someday I'll have to share some of my Fiddleback Nessmuk in action. Is the Woodsman O1 steel also? I cut up some potatoes into thin chips yesterday and the Nessmuk worked great but I wiped it down to quick to let a patina develop.
 
I'm looking forward to letting mine develop a patina, I just couldn't let it happen at the first use. Andy's knives are incredible, I know this one will develop a lot of character through the years.
 
Cut up an apple, or an orange or something. Patina. Now.
 
i ran out of blood, so I had to use some mustard. A couple of red spots but the Simichrome should fix that up right quick.

 
That was the last of that batch. I've cut a bunch more to send out.
