This is my fourth knife and the first one with a narrow tang. Still entirely handmade. It was quite a challenge but lots of fun too. The blade is Wootz and it has 4", the handle is oosic and has 5". The guard, buttcap and nut are 1/4" brass. Did the nut by myself and it's all iregular in shape but I'm very proud of it. The narrow tang is welded to the blade, in the big photo with the pattern you see the blade without the tang.
For the etch I first finished the blade to 1800, etched 1 minute in HCl, checked the result, recleaned with 4000 and etched again for 1.5 minutes. Here are the links to the photos, I look forward to your comments (about the knife, I know that the photos are not very good ;) ).

Impressive, very impressive, man you oght to see my fourth. That is very nice indede!

Very nice package, Flava. The wootz pattern is exceptional, did you make your own? I think that's the first time I've seen it look so 'swirled' like that, cool. Your handle treatment fits the blade just right, you should be proud. I too am looking forward to hearing how this one performs (if you can bear to use it! :D ).

Thanx for the comments guys! :)
No I don't make wootz, this one was bought some time ago from Brisa. Achim Wirtz from Germany makes wootz and he also posted on the neo-thribal forum how he makes it step by step.

Flavius, that is a very nice knife. Interesting that you chose a sheepsfoot for the blade style. That wootz has a beautiful pattern. Wootz has become a personal favorite of mine. The beauty and history of this steel is what has drawn me towards it.

Be sure to put this blade through it's paces and let us know how it did.
