Say, Bob or Bob, Do either of you remember a couple of years ago at the OKCA show here in Eugene, there was a bunch of us gathered around your table when Datu Worden pulled out a Kerambit he had designed and (had?)made?

We were all pretty impressed with it and you were talking with Kelly about REKAT possibly producing it. Everytime I pick up his Impact Kerambit I remember that choice little blade. Is that anywhere in your future? With your expertise in reverse grip I would think that this would be of great interest to you personally.

Would anybody else out there be interested in a REKAT Kerambit?

All you need is love... a sharp blade and a full clip

Never knew where the Kerambit came from, but an outfit called Shomer-Tec sells them for $8.

"The Impact Kerambit is an extremely low-profile device which looks to the un-initiated as simply an odd-looking L-shaped piece of plastic..."

They also offer an Impact Kerambit Trainer ($8), a Concealex Kerambit Holster ($8), and an Impact Kerambit Training Video ($29).

You can write them at Box 28070, Bellingham WA 98228, or call 360-733-6214 for a catalog, or more information.

A steel version would be ... interesting.

The original Kerambit was a Filipino/Indonesian knife with a short hooked blade, mainly used in reverse-grip "close in" systems.

The "Impact Kerambit" tries to apply the same sorts of moves to an impact versus ripping/cutting gameplan.

The steel version most definately came first, by hundreds of years.

Since Bob Taylor and others of the REKAT crew are generally FMA influenced, a REKAT true Kerambit is at least concievable

Would that work sort of like La Griffe reversed, with the edge forward coming out of the bottom of the fist? -- a hard way to lose sparring partners.
