Hi all you knife throwing nuts,

you are very much invited to join the 2015 World Championship in Knife and Axe Throwing (EuroThrowers edition).

It is held August 20-23 2015 in Huthwaite/Nottinghamshire/Great Britain. That's Robin Hood grounds, Sherwood Forest and all

So, what's this Championship, and why should I go?:
Started 15 years ago by a group of throwers from Germany and France, as a yearly meeting to have throwing fun together. So much fun that the meeting grew to now include roughly 150 throwers from 13 countries, including many participants from Russia and the USA. Every few years, we call the event a World Championship (such as this year), to mark a real big gathering of throwers. This year it's organised by KATTA UK, the throwing club driven by John Taylor, Richard Sunderland and Dan Mosley (on whose farm complex the event will be held).

Recapping, you really have the crème-de-la-menthe participating, and the top rankings play out with 1-2 points difference. Luckily, the competitiveness has not put the fun part out of the meeting - the throwers are still there to throw with (plenty of new) friends, and enjoy sticking steel! Beside the official tournament events, there's always fun side stuff like speed throwing (electronic metering), silhouette, or Knife-Snooker :p.
So, come for the fun, learn some tricks from cool throwers, and compete!

Travel-wise: The Championship is held in Nottingham, UK. Meaning, that for the first time in 15 years, the Championship is held in a country where everybody speaks English. Quick connections (2h) to London, nearest Airport Birmingham or Manchester.

All the details, including the throwing rules, travel hints, and even a summary of the local knife laws, are available here:

I'd love to meet you in Huthwaite!

PS: We are aware that there are other World Championships in knife throwing (USA, Russia). But until we manage to unite all those World Championships, we'll upgrade our European Championship to a World one every some years; and also rotate it between countries, so more local throwers can take a shot every some years.
