Hi guys,

It looks like I won't make the may 31st deadline for all of the knives. The reason is that I was forced to go back to work full time (instead of on my own schedule as a consultant). I now work on the knives weekends, evenings and lunch time. This is something I didn't forsee having to do when I made the original commitment. I am sorry. I hope this doesn't cause anyone a problem.

I think I can get the 3rd batch out by the end of the month (roughly). I'm hoping to get the last batch of spoken for knives by the end of June. I will update you when I can be more sure. The last batch of as-yet unsold knives should follow in another month.

On a lighter note, The polished blade and handle combo is quite striking in either black or white. I will post pictures when I can steal the time.

Again, my heart felt apologies. I take commitments seriously and would not have made this one if I'd known I wouldn't be able to keep it.

Thanks,
Bob Couture

We understand, Bob. Life happens. I suspect that each and every one of us has had things take an unexpected turn. We appreciate your efforts.

Yeah Bob, don't sweat it. We all now that unexpected things can (and usually do) pop up. Besides, the longer I have to wait the more time I have to raise the rest of the money!

A word from your sponsor: No problem, Bob. We understand and it's okay with us. Now, I've got to call Edgeworks because I think the first run of sheaths (the final step) was completed this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed.

Good news: I spoke with Scott at Edgeworks: the first run of sheaths is almost complete (yes, some of the WWIIIs are actually 100% done - no 95% - the last part is getting them to you). I think I'll see something on Monday. No promises, but I sure do have goose bumps.

AWESOME NEWS: Scott will be mailing the first batch today! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have NO idea which ones will be in the batch (he's got about 20 of them on hand), but rest assured, the MOMENT I get them, they will go out to their owners - paid in full or not.

Gentlemen, the time is near! Scott even wants to be paid partially in WWIIIs, but I told him that aside from his one that he was lucky enough to get, there ARE none to spare. What is great about this project is that as hard as the "big" companies try to duplicate our efforts, they'll never be able to do it - especially for the price.

So how do I use this pay pal thing to pay you, what's the remainder due after the deposit (I forgot & cant find it) and is pay pal really secure after the thief among us thread??

UGH, went to PayPal and it won't let me in any way shape or form. I had to have them mail me a new password and that takes from 5-7 days. UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Bob,

How did the olive micarta turn out? I remember reading that they burnished more easily than the others. Was that a problem?

Craig,

This is great news. Not that we were in a rush or anything, but it's good to finally see the completion of this project! Can't wait for batch 2! Thanks for all your effort, the time you spent, the out of pocket expenses you covered on the spot for us, and the slew of long distance phone calls that we know were involved in this. This project is really a tribute to your determination to turn your and our ideas and concepts into reality. Not to mention the extra trouble you went through just so a handful of us could get olive drab handles and a matching kydex sheath. That really meant a lot to me. Here's to you, Craig.

Chris

X-Head: It's great to hear you say that, really. I'm always worried that there are some pretty pissed off customers that have been waiting 8 months for their WWIIIs. Thanks for your understanding. You are a true gentleman.

Craig we`re the ones who should be thanking you! 8 months is a short time to wait for a piece of knife history! Thanks for hanging in there all this time and for making it all possible! Marcus

Alright! I can't wait to get mine.

Craig, when you need to reach me, try my mail at: tallwingedgoat@hotmail.com

The old one isn't working.

Craig,

8 months, 10 months or 12 months--Once they finally arrive, and each of us are holding our WWIII's in our hands, I doubt there will be one man among the 40 (or so) of us who would not agree that it was well worth the wait. The funny thing about waiting for a great custom knife to be made is that once you finally get it, all the time you had to wait really doesn't matter anymore. If anything, all the time you had to wait just becomes a bragging right.

What's 8 months? Some people wait 3 years for a custom knife. I feel good knowing that you'll serve no Kuk before it's time!
