Clay!

Where are ya? I believe that enquiring minds want to know. How's the prototypes on the Shoulder Rigs coming along?

Or anyone else here have any kind of insider knowledge? :)

Thanks for your support.

......and it's great! It has Clay's 'auto-unlatch' feature built in, hangs vertically, and is a fine piece of work. I'll see if I can get a couple of pics for all of ya.........

I was just thinking about the wrist rig I read about some time ago. I wonder how those are coming? Also, I was thinking about getting one of his inside the waistband Model 42 rigs. Does anyone have one, and if they do, how are they overall? Thanks for any replies ahead of time.

I don't personally have one of Clay's IWB sheaths, but have heard nothing but good about them! I've been thinking of getting one myself, truth be told...

I've done 3 prototypes so far of the double harnesses. I have one (which I wear daily now), I sent one to Couteaux (who should have it today or tomorrow), and one is going to SniperBoy (shipping tomorrow).

The design works very well.......... much better than I ever thought it would. I've mounted as many as 6 Balis in mine with complete stability. I wanted to get a few other opinions though before I proceeded, and I also have to file patent paperwork for the mounting system (never a dull moment).

DAWKIND: This set-up is different from yours (I've only done maybe 4 of those sheaths, and you have 2 of them). I actually designed AND fabricated the harnesses for these new versions (no waiting for third parties). The sheath itself is a modified horizontal rig, and the harness is now the featured part.

Wrist rigs are still on the drawing board. I'm trying to figure out a way to make them more concealable, while staying in place better. Anyone that has one knows how they tend to move around on the arm.......... ankle rigs are getting the same consideration.

:D Clays IWB Sheath is AWESOME! I have'nt heard of the wrist rig, but I was wearing my IWB sheath on my wrist all day at the RenFair. Clay has awesome customer service, but he has been very busy lately trying to supply us freaks with his outstanding product. The sheaths are top notch and a perfect mate, these things make the standard sheath look pitiful:barf:

Clay, sounds like you've got some great stuff coming, I can't wait to add to my current Xtreme Sheath Works collection:D  :D

As they come from Clay, they only ride vertical. To carry it any other way, you have several options. 1) Cut off the first hole so that the sheath is attached only by one hole, this allows it to swivel (idea taken off Josh's Knifezilla page and it works). 2) Mount it only to the first hole. This allows the sheath to ride deeper in the waistband and still allow it to swivel. 3) Have Clay make you a new clip for a 45 degree cant to the holes.

Another modification I did was to drill a match set of mounting holes in the sheath, opposite the existing ones, to attach the clip. This way, I can flip it around and have the sheath ride forward, instead of behind the clip. Works great with option #1 above for a very low profile carry.

I've lucked out and was able to get an older version of Clay's IWB for the 42. The old style lacks the J-clip and will ride up if the bali isn't drawn clean. Also, it's real hard to unscrew the mounting screws, as I suspect that the clip was bent after mounting it to the sheath. The current version has a very stiff J-clip to hook under the belt, to make sure the sheath doesn't ride up when you try to draw the bali. I cut mine down to lessen the "signature". It also exposes the mounting screws for esay adjustment. Which means the current version is really really sweet.

But Clay, what about the one I've had for a year from you? It fits my FHM balisong which makes it much easier to carry such a large balisong.

The agony of anticipation of a quality product! Seems like a broken record lately in the balisong world

I'd be happy to test one of your prototypes, and even pay for it!
