Once upon a time, I went nuts buying boat knives. Camillus, Schrade I think, and my favorite, a Buck yachtsman. I thought I posted a thread before, but I couldn't find it.

I had a couple Buck yachtsman knives, but have forgotten about different scales and steels etc.

I am looking for the one with shield and bolsters. How do I differentiate from the solid handle models.

Can I get some information on them?

there was a thread titled: Buck 315 Rigging knife a while back...lot's of great info there...

ST, Did not remember you being a "Yachting" knife person.

Matt or I will be glad to help with any details on the Bucks after you read the threads. If you need another "Yachting Knife" person to chew the general fat with try the Sheperd Jim fellow in the first thread. He thinks that yachting knife stuff day and night and is a nice guy.

I have not written a history on he 315 yet. Still trying to find one really rare one. Have seen two, but I am just too cheap.

I have a Camillus rigging knife I was considering putting up for sale but didn't want to offer it on the regular sales page, because like me, most of my buck friends dont look at the other pages. I collect some of the other companies that played a part in the history of Buck knives. Some of the patterns are so closly simmilar you couldnt tell the difference unless you studied the simmilarities and the other companies.

PM me if any are interested.
