I'm looking for a light weight folder, one hand opening, 3" plain edge, metal belt clip, under $50.00.

I'm considering the Spyderco Delica Lightweight....Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Collector

You can't go wrong with the Delica. Some other choices might be the Native or Native III, BM Griptillian, or if you want a great knife at half the price, get a Ka-Bar Dozier Folding Hunter.

I highly recommend the Benchmade mini-Griptilian.

It's one of the best "bang for your buck" deals in the knife industry.

Another vote for the mini-Griptilian. It's not quite under $50, unless you look here on the exchange forums, but it's also not much more than $50.

It's a solid knife despite the FRN handles, has the Axis lock (and mine was buttery smooth out of the box), two great blade styles to choose from, up to at least 4 different handle colors to choose from (black, green, blue, yellow), and, while small, still fills the hand better than most 3" knives.

It's a great knife!

Get the Delica...I have one, and I find it to be an excellent folder for the money.:).

Delica's a good one, though I'd recommend the Native in either of its current variants: standard handle with s30V or the new Native III in VG10, both around the $50 mark...

Go with Spyderco on this one. Benchmade's mini grip is nice but it's only got 440C blade steel:( Also the handles on the Mini-grip felt slightly...hollow?

I think the Delica and mini-Griptilian are the obvious top choices. I tend to pick the Delica because I just love VG-10 steel. But more importantly, the Delica is not just lightweight -- it is so thin and carryable that it absolutely disappears in the pocket. The mini-griptilian is both noticeably heavier and thicker, though I would guess it's also sturdier. You'll be happy with either choice, I would guess.

I recently got a 93mm Spyderco Rescue. It is significantly slimmer then many other knives and despite its larger size, disappears pretty easily in the pocket. A smaller size would only be smaller and lighter so, I would stick with the Spyderco offerings myself.

CRKT KFF Pro Small: AUS8 blade (easy to sharpen, yet last quite long), Aluminium handle and metal clip. Ergos in the hand is good, and it comes with LAWKS! Besides the fit n finish of CRKT is worth more than the money.

i don't have one, but my buddy who brought me the Point Guard got one, and from using the Point Guard, i know what to expect.

Spyderco Calypso Jr. will fit the bill nicely. Either the old style with the micarta and 8A blade, or the FRN and VG10 will work just fine.

I am going to be different and recommend a Camillus EDC. For $50 you get a knife designed by one of the top names in custom knives, Darrel Ralph, and a blade in 154-CM, one of the better stainless steels. I used(um, mkae that abused) one at work for many months, until I broke it by trying to break apart welded steel(long story, and NO I didn't realize it was steel).

It is a great knife, and I loved it. When I get the money I plan to buy anohter one. I can't recommend it enough.

Yet another vote for the FRN Delica. Get the VG-10/PE version as some have already indicated. This is an excellent knife for the money. You won't be sorry.

Chalk up another vote for the PE FRN Delica with VG10 steel. I have been considering this model for a long time and after much consideration, as well as input from the Spydermasses, am going to pick up one (or two, or three :D ) as soon as possible.

Today i got to see and handle the small KFF Pro. It is even greater than my Point Guard .. so recommendation stays strong for that one. You get aluminium solid handle .. with a very nice grip ..

BM mini-grip 555. BM's 440C steel might not be VG10, but its still a great steel. + AXIS lock... :D

Regards,

Shaun.

Another vote for the mini-grip.

If you can find a plain edge Calypso Jr. with a VG-10 blade tell me! I loked for one of those for a while, but could not find one. I wish Spyderco still made that one.
