Yvsa...??

I'll try to email him and see what happens. I haven't heard frm him in a while either. I'll let you know what I find out.:)

Last word I remember on Yvsa was he was in Phoenix area visiting his daughter. Had car trouble in Grants or Gallup, NM. Daughter had to come and get him. Think his last post said he could access the forum but not his email, from his location in the Phoenix area.
Probably trying to get the car fixed.

Glad to see that someone keeps informed on this forum. After you told about the trip. It rings bells for me now. Thanks.:)

I just had dinner with Yvsa and Barb on Tuesday. :)

I believe they are on the road again back to OK even as we speak, so it might be a couple days before Yvsa has a chance to get back online.

Thanks, Dave. I still remember you from the First Khonvention, but your face is starting to blur. But even if your face is getting blurred, your heart and spirit are as sharp as ever in my mind.

Uh, now where did it go? It was just here a minute ago, no really! I had full possession of my faulties, then got distracted and it must have wandered off while my back was turned. Maybe it's trying to tell me to take my meds or something. I'll find it in just a few seconds here...

Yep!!!! One helluva trip!!!!!!!

Made it home safely about 6:00 p.m. this evening. I had 109 e-mail messages so it's gonna take me a few days to answer the pertinent ones so bear with me, the rest went in file 13.:)

Actually we lost the tranny in Gallup. Perhaps even worse than Grants?
Penny and Paula came to the rescue, rented a car dolly in Phoenix, pulled it to Gallup and had the car loaded almost before I knew they had arrived, damned good kids and Paula mechanical savvy because I taught her and our youngest how to do a little work on their cars. They didn't always like it at the time, especially Kelly the youngest, but the knowledge has been invaluable to them. Penny is naturally mechanical inclined so such things come natural to her although I've shown Penny a trick or two myself.:)

Anyway we got it towed to Phoenix and got it in the shop the next morning. It took almost 2 weeks because the insurance company sent an inspector to check out the tranny as it was repaired just last November.
Whatever must've checked out because the insurance guy said fix it and they did and it worked fine all the way home.
Only damned thing is that the tech must've not got the vacumn line back on for the heater controls as I couldn't get the control to work as to where to direct the air flow. Good thing the A/C worked alright, but maybe not because then I would've known something was wrong early enough to get them to fix it so now I've got to take it in and have it checked here, bet they fix it for free too!!!!:D

So thanks for looking out for me guys!!!! It's appreciated!!!!

Dave I had an e-mail from Tim Lively telling about a tape showing how to make a knife without gas or electric from beginning to end. I'll send you the info in a day or two when I get settled back in. I think you would find it beneficial and informative, let alone educational.:)
Dave's one helluva nice young fellow whom Barb and myself always look forward to seeing in Phoenix. Our country needs more such as he!!!!
Although after introducing him to Ming's Palace Dave may be a little more rotund the next time we get to meet up with him.
Great Chinese Food and you're not hungry 20 minutes later.:)

Pilots say any landing you can walk away from is a good one. I reckon the same goes for road trips, glad you made it home safely.

Thanks for taking the time.

Kis

Kis there's much there I haven't seen before but at a glance it seems to be at least a somewhat accurate account.
Much of what I've been told is personal history and came from family members and deals more with culture than the history.

Welcome back to the central plains.:)

Thanks Pappy!!!! It's good to be home. I'd forgotten just how good my own La-Z-Boy feels, let alone our own bed, I slept until almost 9:00 a.m. this morning.:)

This durn thread wouldn't finish loading. Musta tried 15 or 20 times, and reloaded more than that. And that's just since the BF came back up this afternoon.

But you're home, finally. It's so good to have you back.
