I cant seem to find any information about ZDP-189 and how it does in terms of corrosion resistance. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

I can't help much, but I do have two tiny spots of discoloring on my Calypso Jr. ZDP. I was cutting a bunch of food and put it away dirty though. I really don't care because they don't look like rust, just a slight discolor.

I've used mine for EDC since its release (6 months now), cutting food mostly, not taking great care of it and I haven't seen any corrosion appear.

I carry mine everyday!! I use it for everything. I Flitz all my knives when I first get them.

The one time that I used my ZDP-189 Calypso Jr I got up the next morning and opened the knife and found 3 tiny corrosion spot that were all on the ZDP-189 part of the blade. The 420J2 laminate part of the blade didn't have any from what I can tell. But I have not had any since then.

I think what was said about the use of Flitz polish or Flitz wax has a lot merit. I use the Flitz wax on my 2 non stainless knives and have super results with it. Keep in mind that even though ZDP-189 is 20% Chromium it is also 3% Carbon which is usually the component that is condusive to corrosion. The the corrosion factor on that knife is really not a factor in the big picture of the knife's performance capability.
