ZT 0550 Appreciation Thread

Had a little fun with my camera and ZT 0550 this morning. Great solid knife! Locks up like a vault and built like a tank (as with all ZT's).

Agreed. I sold my 0561 shortly after getting my 0551 (not that there's anything wrong with the 056X series, but I just found that everything I needed was in the 055X knives).

Picking up a 0550 with deep-carry clip pretty soon.
 
I agree with you guys, of my once large ZT collection I now only have my 0550. I think I will try the new style with the deep pocket clip but I am still partial to the way the original looks.
 
Really dig my 0550. Possibly because its my first Ti framelock but also because it just fits. I enjoyed the initial strong detent because the blade just flew open. Now that its breaking in, the detent has softened some and I find it hard to rotate to another knife for my EDC. I may have to replace the G10 scale eventually, though.
 
hell yea, i would say out of all the zt's i have and had the 0550 by far sees more pocket time then any of them. currently i have 301,350,561,750 had three 560's but traded off. thinking about selling the rest of my zt's and keeping my 0550. might try to pick up a 551 to keep his brother company :thumbup: or a new 550 with deep carry pocket clip.
 
I LOVE my 0551, can anyone tell me if the newer version of the 0550 with the lockbar cutout on the outside and the deep carry clip are available most everywhere or will it be a while before I can get my hands on a new one of those? I'd like to keep my 0551 nice and make a real user out of the newer 0550. Thanks in advance for any info...

I really like the size and shape of the 0551/50, its about the same size as the Strider SnG and once I received my 0551 I let my oldest son talk me out of my SnG...of course now I miss the SnG and plan to replace it BUT I like the 0551 just as much as the Strider. Both are GREAT knives.

I'd call/email and ask before buying one. I've not heard of any stores in particular that have the new clip and lockbar cutout yet, most places are selling their "older" style though.
 
Does anyone know if I can get the new style clip and put it on my older 550?
 
Anyone trade a 550 for a benchmade 51 or a Paramilitary 2 both in mint condition? The PM2 Digi Cam g10 scales and black s30v blade

Along with the new cutout and clip, the this version looks much better than the original.

I'll have to make the DLC my first one. I'll keep my eyes out over on USN for any more info that Thomas puts up regarding them.
