Hey guys, I just ordered a 561 from knifeart.com. Im excited but also a little but concerned. Im reading a lot of posts that I didnt see before ordering about vertical blade play/other issues. This kinda freaks me out because I just dropped 260 on this knife and its the most Ive ever spent on a folder.

Anyone have any success stories with this model?

All I know is that all of the 560's/561's I've gotten from Kershaw have been incredibly tight with no vertical or side to side play at all!...(and I do know a thing or two about this knife;))These are knives from the line in the retail boxes...So when you get your new knife pull it out of the box and be prepared to enjoy cutting whatever needs cutting! This knife is a workhorse of a knife....I designed it to be that and ZT makes them for that!...So be excited!!...

No need to freakout my friend, these are incredible knives like the man said be excited. I have the 0560 and 0561 both very impressive out of the box. This has been one of the most scrutinized knives that I have ever seen discussed on this forum. You have two things in favor for you with this knife, the first is you have ZT making the knife here in USA with great customer service. The second is a Rick Hinderer design. Enjoy!

I wouldn't worry, even after all the hype and the long wait which can lead to high expectations the 0560 quickly became my favorite production folder under $400. Not only that but it also made me second guess some of my more expensive knife purchases.

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll love your new 0561.

Pretty cool to get a response from the horse's mouth! Along with Mr. Hinderer I haven't had any trouble with blade play from 0561. Don't worry about if it has problems, worry about what you are going cut first with it.

Wow, Thanks ALL! What an honor to have Mr. Hinderer himself comment. Thanks for the reassurance here. I missed all the hype before because Im just now really getting into ZT. My wife and I are headed to work in Uganda for a year and we leave in Sept. I will be doing emergency medical work there. I wanted to good knife and the Hinderer xm18 is a GRAIL knife for me. So thats why I chose the 561. Thanks again and Im sure I will only report good things from Africa after a years use.

I purchased a 0560 a few weeks ago and it is an excellent design and solidly built. Enjoy your 0561!

Yeah. You'll always be able to find something bad about any make/model, however, the 056x are awesome knives. I have had a low serial # and my current is a high serial #. Both are tanks. I would like Mr. Hinderer to make custom scales already!!! Cough, Cough...

The honor is mine! Knowing that you chose one of my designs to help you with such noble work! I know that the 561 will serve you well! Definitly keep us informed of your travels!

Yes, stay tuned! There will be 560 scales coming from the Hinderer shop!

I just purchased one for knifeart last week or so... every aspect of it is perfect; no play at all, centered blade, not one scuff or scratch, sharp sharp sharp... you will be pleased. The lock is quite strong and you may need a little time/ experience with it to become comfortable--but that break-in time came and went with me already. The only structural change I made was to make it tip-down... my spydies (military mostly) got me used to that configuration. I found that it helps me keep my fingers off the lockbar when deploying the blade as well. So, don't worry; it should be fine. Mine has been in my pocket, used, sharpened, etc... and it is rock-solid. Enjoy.

...and Mr. Hinderer, it really is refreshing to see those at the forefront of an industry (as with Mr. Glesser) take the time and have the interest to interact with the folks that buy and use their products. Cheers to you sir, and thanks for a great knife.

My 0560 has a little blade play... I've called zt and haven't gotten a callback yet but do plan to call again tomorrow
From what I've heard I don't foresee any issues!

Edit: called in, looks like I'll be taken care of!!

Thats good to hear.. I loved the Hinderer scale on my ZT0551

What about those awesome standoffs too....would be cool to get those custom clips like I've been seeing on XMs recently too.. A boy can dream

I want to get one of these also, bit unless I win the lotto it is going to be a little while. Maybe if I just save the money and stop buying the cheaper knives, I would have the money. Just bought a Cryo.
