My ZT0561 is showing some wear on the titanium side and I was thinking about scotchbriting the titanium finish. Has anybody done this yet? I want to see how it will look before I do it.

On topic but with a different knife.

I used scotchbrite on my Umnunzaan after I had it for about a month. I think it looks better than a stock Zaan. I very seldom carry it now.

Scotchbriting the uneven texture of the ti is going to be quite a project. Stick with it, I think it will look very cool and unique when you're done.

Got any pics?

I'm surprised nobody has done this yet. From what I can see through the wear the color underneath the beadblasting looks to be a really shiny light silver color. That's why I'm hesitant to do it because it could potentially look pretty cheap and tacky. I think I'll leave it for now :D

Maybe it would look something like this which is how I wanted it to look in the first place...I hate anything bead blasted if you are going to use it because of how easily it shows wear.

That is just plain pretty ^^
I haven't done it, but if it looks like that.. I just may.
Also.. looks like that could be anno'd awesomely.

Dam I needed sunglasses for that picture

May I ask how you did that

I didn't polish my 0560 lockside...that is a pre-production pic prior to bead blasting that was posted awhile back. I would think that to get the same effect by hand with a bead blasted lockside would be almost impossible. I would have loved it if the lockside was stonewashed to match the blade because it would look better and wear better.
