Attachment Download Counts

I have a quick question regarding picture downloads. I was going through and deleting some of the pictures that I’ve posted over the years and I noticed the number of downloads under each attachment. I was wondering if that count was the number of times someone right clicked and saved as…or is that just the count of the number of people opening that thread.

Just curious.

It's counting thread openings. Every time you open the thread you are actually downloading the pic.

A correction to KV's post:

Download count only increases when:
1. Someone clicks on your attached thumbnail.
2. You implicitly create an image tag linked to your thumbnail attachment and then someone reads the page on which the picture is displayed.
