Howdy!

As some of you know, I beat the living heck out of my Adamas.

I have:
Cut steel with it
Pried off bottle caps
Pried out nails
Pried out staples
Thrown it into locust trees
Stabbed steel
Pried rocks out of the ground
Chopped down trees
Pried bark off logs
Hammered with the handle
Hammered with the spine
The list goes on and on.

I have completely trashed the edge probably 5 times now. And have since freehanded the bevels to a convex.

I wanna see your beaters! And a quickie on the things you've done to them would be sweet too.

I get that this has been done before, but members are constantly changing and new beaters pop up all the time.

Post away!

I was expecting to see some real characters in this thread. I'll contribute one that's been kicking around for a while. It's a garage knife now. It's been used for prying, hammering, stabbing through sheet metal, cleaning caked on brake dust from a lathe, chopping down two trees 3-5" diameter trunks, cutting ropes, and fashioning some spears(boredom breeds creativity).
Looks good right?

That sheath hides the beauty within

Still takes a decent edge

Surprisingly these are probably the two most "beat up" knives I currently own. I typically dont like to do metal on metal which is where most wear comes from on my part because my satin blades don't show too much wear. I do have this bushcrafter that I've used a Ferro rod on.

Love the thread and love seeing that Adamas that has been beaten senseless!

My little FDE Hinderer Half Track has been used for whatever that task is in front of me no matter the environment and has kept a heck of an edge that I have only had to strop!

My TM Hunt M18 has been well used for everything under the sun. My favorite is during the election I got sick of all the political adds on the one radio station we could get at the shop. I got so mad one day I used it to destroy the radio. Not even a nick in the blade!

I have not been easy on my ZT0456 since the day I put it in my pocket almost a year ago. It has taken everything I could throw at it and asked for more! Like my Half Track it has not had to do anything but be stropped!

my old glock field knife has been through alot. Will try to get a picture of it.

Hi! My fixed blade “beater” :). I used this extensively for outdoors activities in the past, today it mostly sits in the garage as one of the “around the house” knives. It sees some gardening jobs, trivial maintenance tasks, etc. It scrapes, pry, cuts nasty stuff, etc. :D It’s a workhorse with decent steel, it goes through all with no big deals and it gets back very sharp .
