Double black micarta, buffed. They do look a lot darker indoors. I will take some pics and then some comps with the OG-FK, FK2 & EDCs in the upcoming days.

This is actually a variation of our old dark tumbled finish where we forced a dark patina on A2. Didn't work on 3V so we started doing a different kind of acid wash however this big dagger was done the way we used to do it. We don't usually do this because the chemistry needed to achieve the finish on 3V is hard on the tumbler and required taking the Tumblr outside of the building but I made an exception for this piece.

The hinge on the lid on that tumbler still doesn't work right...

It’s definitely a remarkable colour shift. There is an old thread on here with some more pics taken at various stages. You can probably find it by searching this sub-forum using the term Butterscotch.

Am I to understand the scales aged to red and the finish aged to acid wash? Man, I gotta keep my cpk’s a little longer. They age better than a fine wine!
