    Greeting!

I like the factory kydex ESEE 5 sheath. However, the clip plate doesn't quite work for me. Tried Tek Lok; riding to high. I don't want to use ESEE Molle back; extra bulk. Does anyone make a dangler or a droop loop (kydex or leather) that can be attached to the factory sheath without modification? Something akin leather drop loop for Blind Horse Forest Trail kydex sheathÂ….

    Example

Get yourself one of the ESEE "Molle Back" Everyone I have heard about these are very happy, they simply connect to the existing sheath. Do an online search for ESEE Molle Back and you'll get a lot of info.

They do seem to be out of stock at a lot of places, but worth the search.

Thanks for the reply Leatherman, but like the original poster, I've checked out that option and would prefer to avoid the cordura and extra bulk of the Molle setup. I was thinking more along the lines of this:

    http://www.the-knife-connection.com/bhk-ftleathsheathback-blk.html

...but I would like it to ride lower, dangler style with an O-ring... either leather or kydex would work for me...

Any custom leather or kydex guys out there have something like this made up for an Esee 5, or would be willing to do it? I know I've seen the dangler setups with a few of the custom kydex sheath makers but I don't believe they sell just the dangler attachment part to attach to a factory Esee Kydex Sheath, am I wrong about this? I like the factory sheath, just not the mounting options...and also trying to keep my costs down. Thanks for any help!

I do believe there is a thread here, might even be on the first page, of a kydex/leather hybrid drop loop. It could easily be converted to a dangler style.

Sorry about the molle back thing, I didn't read far enough into the first post when I saw its date.

Edit: found azwelke's thread on the first page: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1071460-Kydex-leather-Hybrid-drop-loops-by-azwelke If he has the right measurements, one could be made for your sheath. The "search forum" button is your friend. :)

Thanks Leatherman. Yes, I have done quite a bit of searching and have really not found much. I clicked on azwelke's thread that you referenced above and then emailed him, but right after I emailed him, I looked at his website and it basically says that he will only sell his accessories if you order a sheath from him. Eli @ Godspeed also says the same thing on his website, which I get, since they are in the business of selling sheaths and would make less $ if they were to just sell attachments for the factory kydex. I guess it's either mcgyver it myself, or bite the bullet and spend an extra $50 for a an extra sheath I don't really need, just to get the mounting option that I want (would prefer to put that $ towards a BK7 or BK10).

Any upstanding craftsmen out there willing to put a dangler attachment together for me for the factory Esee 5 kydex?

Not sure why a kydex bender would not simply make an add on like that, its actually a simple little money maker if it catches on.
