Do these usually stay put or is intervention needed? Common? Prevent from EDC?

Thanks

Needs pics! Some cracks aren't cracks (they don't go all the way through). If they are cracks, then you effectively have a 2 piece scale and this will probably require intervention unless each piece is adequately secured.

Im just asking for general purposes. As far as I know (eyesight not withstanding) none of my blades have cracks. I do know that some of the older specimens have them and are sold as such. If its just mostly cosmetic I dont want it to stop me from buying a nice old EDC.

On a different note, is there anything the average guy can do to tighten up blade wobble?

Thanks

If the crack goes all the way through, and you're worried about it, a little drop of your favorite CA adhesive will do the trick.

To fix blade wobble, you'll need to be VERY gentle about it, but you can peen the ends of the pivot pin to tighten up the joint.

Agreed, some CA immediately followed by some 600 grit paper, quick buff and you are good to go.
