I just bought the Ka-Bar S&U framelock for $280! The price was right but I won't know if I'm happy or sad till I receive it. I held off because I thought that it was overpriced.
 
Which one did you get??? $280 for S35vn and American made isn't egregious, granted S35vn is now getting a lot cheaper.
 
I don't think you'll complain, looks pretty well made and I dig that "blood groove".
 
As a southpaw, framelocks and I don't get a long, but that one would be tempting at a lower price point.
I especially like the story behind the blade shape.
It's supposed to be an homage back to the theater knives in WW2 - when someone broke their blade and reground the leftover to a spear point with the fuller running out.
 
Humbly, I had just bought their latest S&U folder when I saw this one. How did I rationalize the additional purchase? Two for the price of one!!
