Karambits are just like any other knives under CA law.
They are not considered balis and, as long as it's not an automatic over 2" in length, it's legal to carry w/in the limits of the law applicable to all other knives.
If it is a fixed blade, it can be considered "a dirk or dagger" as all fixed blade knives can & it cannot legally be carried concealed but can be carried openly in a sheath regardless of length, except where the length of a blade is limited by local ordinance.
If it's a folder, it (like any other folder) can be carried concealed in pocket (or where ever on your person or in a backpack or a bag) regardless of length, again subject to any location limitations.
It would also be legal to carry an automatic karambit (whether concealed or not) as long as the blade length is less than 2".
