Maybe stripped my screws?

Just got a ZT 0750 tactical talon (serial 28!). It was awesome! Took me aprox 1 hour to break it. I wanted to move the clip to a tip down carry and when I was screwing the screws in I felt like something gave out. It stopped getting tighter and now I can tighten the screw indefinitely and it will never stop spinning. There is huge play in the pocket clip as well.

I am hoping that maybe the screws themselves were stripped and not the threading on the knife itself.

I really wasn't cranking on it, I promise. It seemed if I did ruin the threads on the screws that they were way too easy to do so.

Anyone have a similar problem or just can offer some insight?

Happened to my 0750 as well. I got some new screws from Kershaw, and they work great!!

Also happened to my 0780, but it was because the G10 did not line up properly with the internal liner, so the screws would never catch.

The screws are soft enough that you will strip them instead of the liners

My 0200 did similar the head stripped out when I moved it and now it won't tighten down anymore. I'll have to get new screws. On the up side the clip is at the perfect tension now.

Same thing happened to me....as soon as I got it((SAME KNIFE)), I moved the clip. And attempted to tighten the screws and nothing, just kept spinning. Called them up and they sent me several sets of screws...also use some loctite, they told me they recommend it. Let it dry before you use it.

Order some new screws from ZT and get yourself a 2/56 tap. I got one on ebay for less that $5 shipped.

Now that I think about it, I had to fight with my 0750's clip screws as well... however with enough pressure it all worked out good.
