The handle on that Plumb is super nice! Must have been customized. The Plumb is 26" and the Mann is 24.5"

I actually use and quite enjoy a 30" Collins (marked opposite side) with a handle set up just like the Plumb in the picture. I find it does a great job splitting if your rounds are setting on another round/block.
300Six, I bet you are right that the shorter handles are something suited to tighter quarters, choking up, and being persuasive lol.
Sorry it took so long to respond.S Square_peg if you don't mind me asking. What was OAL of the plumb 5lb that you have that never was hung? Trying to find out length of a true full bit.
Quite the little rafter party there! I think that Kelly Charleston is an old one, maybe 1930s.
Just what I wanted to hear. The two I got are same measurements, the light 5 being 8.5".Sorry it took so long to respond.
The un-hung Dreadnaught measures 8-5/8" x 4-7/8". I have a couple lightly used Plumbs that measure 8-1/2" x 4-15/16".
Yes sir!Bustin' it up!
Thank you. Stumptown Axes did that handle for me, he does amazing work.Great hang, build and finished up with an epic splitting battle.
Excellent Work!
I found the thread where I described my process.May I ask what file you used to stand your waffle pattern back up,jewelers?
Thank you!I found the thread where I described my process.
Finally hung my rafting axe
If someone were extraordinarily ambitious and skilled with a file I believe they could mill a waffle pattern on a smooth face poll. And I bet it would be much easier on a poll that wasn't hardened. Do you think! How ever and what ever I'm impressed with what you did.www.bladeforums.com
