Well, I've been a Bladeforums member for a year as of yesterday, so I thought I'd share some pics of the knives I bought and thoughts on the past year...
Sorry about the crappy photos, lighting sucked.
1. Spyderco Military's are addictive:
From top, clockwise:
Brown G10, CTS-XHP Sprint
Black G10, S30V Regular Production
Carbon Fiber, BG42 Sprint
Orange G10, S30V Limited Production
Carbon Fiber, M390 Sprint
Fluted Titanium, S30V Limited Production
2. Actually, Spydies in general are addictive
Top to bottom:
Grasshopper
Dragonfly 2, British Racing Green FRN in ZDP-189 <-----Amazing weight, ergos are great on such a small (but capable) blade.
Paramilitary 2, Grey G10, CTS-20CP Sprint <-----Primary EDC, amazing ergos with great blade steel.
3. A challenger appears...Kershaw...
Top to bottom:
Tilt
Leek Composite blade
Leek G10 handles, S30V <----- Rotating between the two Leeks right now.
Blur, S30V
On right:
Kershaw Skyline <----First good knife; thin, light, high on value.
4. Fixed blades and the Lone Ranger, er, Farmer
Top to bottom:
Victorinox Farmer <----- Excellent outdoor SAK, Alox handles feel and look great.
Becker BK14 <----- Arguably the best small fixed blade for the price.
Swamp Rat Rodent 4 <------ Love everything about this knife, ergos, looks, steel, size, everything.
I've learned more about knives in one year on here than I ever thought. From companies, to knifemakers, to specific knife models, blade steels, sharpening, and more. And I met some pretty cool people along the way. Thanks BFC, here's to another year.
