Hey guys I was looking into getting my first higher priced edc folder, and I cannot decide between the spyderco paramilitary 2 or the zero tolerance 0350. Does anyone have an opinion that can steer me in the right direction?

Please use search. This thread has been posted endless times before. There is a lot of good discussion on them.

What do you like/dislike about the knives you have used and what do you use them for?

I would pick Spyderco every time over ZT, even blindly not knowing the model, but if you want to sit around using a flipper as you watch movies or want the Onion/Strider looks you might be different.

I've got several variations of both, and I have never carried any of my 0350's. Gonna let them go soon.

I've owned both and for my needs, the Spydy Para 2 wins hands down. The ZT is no slouch but sharpening recurve blades can be tricky. YMMV

Maybe its after the fact, but what do want to do with this higher priced edc? What kind of tasks? Work stuff like cutting zip ties and such? Have you had any experience with either company's knives in the past? Would this be your first spyderco or ZT?

I have both, it just depends on what I'm doing. I feel i have to be carefully with the finer tip of the para. Two different animals in my opinion.

I would get the Para2 if given the choice.
It's just better for all around EDC.
You don't really have to be super careful with the tip if you're not prying or stabbing hard things with it.

There both great knives! Got home today and the mailman delivered the Para 2 and ZT560! Last week was the ZT350, Benchmade 530BK and 940BK! I like carrying all of them! Really like the 530 and 940 if wearing dress clothes due to it being so light! I think I'm hooked! LOL!

Have both, the 0350 is a tank! Not that the para2 is a whimp but it isnt as beefy as the 350. Blade isnt as pointy so it seems it might hold up better to abuse then the para2. My Para2 is the best slicer I have by a mile!! I like the weight of the para2 better. Function wise, the flipper of the 350 the best! I like the jimping of the 350, the grip can be done easily in both ways were as the para2 isnt as obvious. I hate the ken onion recurve...but it isnt horrible, just not as usable or as easy to sharpen. I like my 0350 more for tactical than the para2. However I do like both very much just in different ways.
