Paul Ehlers, considered one of the most influential and most often imitated fantasy knife designers, has teamed up with Branton Knives.
His goal is to design knives that have beauty and are both functional and affordable. Ehlers one-of-a-kind designs usually command prices of several thousand dollars each.
Paul is most known for his collaborations with knife makers Gil Hibben and Paul Fox. Recently celebrating his 20th year in Fantasy Design, Ehlers is venturing down a very different road. A fact that not many know is that the knives Paul collects are not fantasy, but knives with clean lines that are functional and elegant.
He was drawn to Branton Knives for their superb workmanship, comfort in the hand and affordability. It is this, along with many years of martial arts and outdoor experience, which has influenced the Ehlers/Branton Pit Viper series which is exclusively designed for Branton Knives.
For his new fighter named Ripley, Paul enlisted the knowledge of internationally known Knife Fighting Master, Guro Jeff Chung (P.I.M.A.) whose skills in Filipino martial arts are legendary. What theyve come up with is part sythe, part push dagger, and all business.
Bobby Branton will be premiering the Ripley at the Blade show in Atlanta. Be sure to check it out. As Paul says, It aint no Fantasy!.
