Pricing question...

I was just wondering why the Commander (as well as the new Mach 1) retails for significantly more than the CQC-7's. I looked at a friend's and don't quite see why there should be such a pricing disparity.

BTW, I'm not even remotely griping about the actual cost of the knife - I appreciate finely made cutlery goodies (like my Sebenza, for example) - I'm just wondering why there's the additional cost over the lower model knives. Did I miss something in my cursory inspection?

FWIW, I'm getting a satin Commander in the mail in the next few days. Maybe I'll end up answering my own question?

Thanks.

Hi!

My idea is that it's more material in the Commander, also a guess is that the recurve grind is a bit more difficult/time consuming to grind, and more details like the wave feature will of course raise the price.
(more details + more machining time = more dough)
And for the record...both are my two favorite carrys

Just my 0.2 cents
