Dreigroschen Opera.....Unfortunately this 1937 3d (thruppence) carries the effigy of Geo VI . A number of coins were struck with his brother's effigy Edward VIII who was king Jan-Dec 1936, abdicating. Alegedly some got out into circulation before being destroyed, others were mint sets for the ever rapacious House of Windsor (Saxe-Coburg...).Some brass Edward VIII 1937 3d had this design others slightly different one was sold for 45k GBP I believe, hardly Dreigroschen..but a soap opera of the day :cool:
