This Forum Sucks!!

I've tried many times to register at UsualSuspect.net.

It works, but when I log in, anything I click on gives me a "You do not have permission..." message. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe my browser security settings are screwed up.
 
As for Swenson troll. This guys is no mystery or confused new guy. I agree that his registration, alias and incarnations should be removed due to the proven track record of repeated offenses and hostile intent towards Strider.

Here is my beef. If you guys head over to the USN, then I'll won't be seeing you. The USN threw me out without any provocation or cause, or remorse for their own paranoid mistake. Nor are they incentivized to reverse such mistakes as exposes them to public embarrassment. You will find the thebadguy and a bunch of others have had the same experience.

IMO, the way the USN guys moderate is the extreme opposite of what happens here and is effectively worse. Allowing information to exist and selectively filtered would not preclude information that would have been in a highly censored environment.

While I enjoyed the USNs informational content and imagery. For those of you who like to sell your stuff on the aftermarket. This place has the traffic to create a pretty efficient secondary market, something that the USN, by it's very exclusive nature, cannot produce.

I agree with Nick. It's a pain to bounce back and forth between the two anyway. Mick, close it.

Why can't Strider have more than one forum? Why can't members who view this forum simply ignore the trolls. I would hate to think that this latest sob is laughing his arse off. I own 4 Striders and plan on a few more. There is good traffic on this site and that is good for after market AND for newbies. Best of luck, Strider Guys

If you will not be able to actively moderate, I vote that you close down this forum and move everything over to the other one.
It is one thing to be a responsible owner/manufacturer and have a place on the web for the large segment of the knife buying/collecting to read, talk and ask questions about the knives that you make. It is fun, and it is good business.
You, and most here for that matter dont come to be taunted, decieved, vilified or have have parts of our lives publicly dissected. As an owner of the company that this forum is here for, you should have some editorial discretion with what is posted here. As of now, you don't. The other forum seems to be very good at auto regulating itself, with the "Troll Hole" a place to move posts and posters that want to act out. I think the other Strider forum can handle both the traffic and those that want to misbehave.

If your wishes are not made true, I think no one will fault you for leaving.

It used to be very good, i have learned more from this forum than perhapse any of the the others. I think from a business perspective it may be a good idea to keep it open but that is your call. I do hope that it is not deleted since there is was some very valuable information here. Recently this forum has sucked, part of the problem is that all of the good aspects of this forum are mirrored elsewhere. I dont know how this forum works or doesnt work behind the scenes but if it doesnt work for you. . .

I would add that bladeforums is more visible than USN and in some ways more welcoming since you do not have to join to read, so for the casual internet user but a hardcore knife guy USN might be more of the a turn off, i dont know how important the internet is to your business but that is something to keep in mind.

Perhaps this forum could be cured by a more liberal use of the Sticky function such as "everything you wanted to know about the SnG so we dont have to hear about it elsewhere" any maybe another thread that starts with "Warning". For some stupid reason Greg Walker got "in trouble" (its the phucking internet so how much trouble could there really be) for deleting threads, but this place needs a culling.

By allowing this to happen, and not giving Mick control over his forum, the troll wins and BF loses. Think how emboldend the "Felchmeister" must feel. This is ridiculous.

I am the anti-censor. I don’t think that much should be deleted or edited. That just isn’t my style.

My problem is that I have ZERO support from Bladeforums. Anyone see any posts from Spark, in this thread or the one marked attn Spark? Note that I personally notified all moderators that they needed to check out the threads…..

Anyone notice how long it took him to remove the gay porn someone posted a few months ago?

This all leads me to believe that not only does Spark not care….I have to go ahead and guess that he is somehow involved. Weather he is posting as Swenson or sucking his dick…..its all the same to me….

As I bounce through the forum, looking around and deciding what to do…I realize that there are a lot of folks who are great…just like anywhere, and are still enjoying the place…..

I'd "Blow this Popsicle Stand" but that's just me. Being a Moderator shouldn't mean having to sit on your hands while people take potshots. If it's Babysitting and not Moderating, they should name it as such. This place has sure come a long way in the last 12 months. Mick......Who in the hell is that in that pic that you attached.
