It’s a Sargent 8” x 12” I think its from the 20 or 30’s but I don’t know for sure. I seen it in an antique shop for $11 and couldn’t pass on it.

Ok. Then tell Us. What is the estimate age on the clever? You've already exposed your finer tastes in vintage things.

So how old is that clever?

I didn’t know at first but after some digging I found a WM Marples and son’s historical website and emailed the admin. They revealed some key characteristics about the cleaver that suggests it was produced roughly in or around 1905

I am so glad you like antique and vintage Sheffield knives - I have a few myself.
Sheffield is only 30 miles from me.
